This Privacy Policy explains how H McCulloch & S McCulloch trading as H&S Home Brew Supplies (ABN 79 405 696 498) (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, discloses and safeguards your personal information when you shop with us online at hshomebrew.com.au or in our Nerang Brewing and Oxenford Brewing stores. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

  • Technical information — such as your IP address, browser type and pages visited, collected through cookies, analytics and our website security tools.

How we collect it: when you make a purchase in store or online, create an online account, subscribe to our news and specials, contact us with enquiries or feedback, or visit our website.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to:

  • process and fulfil your orders, including delivery and in-store pickup;
  • communicate with you about your purchases;
  • create and manage your customer account;
  • respond to enquiries and provide customer support;
  • send you news and specials, but only with your consent (see section 7);
  • improve our products, services and website;

  • meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We only share your information with trusted providers who help us run our business, and only as needed:

  • Payment processing — WooPayments / Stripe, to process card payments.
  • Delivery — Australia Post, to deliver your order and send tracking updates.
  • Point-of-sale and accounting — our in-store POS system and accounting software, so your orders and account work in store and online.
  • Website, hosting and email — our website host and email delivery service, to run the website and send order and account emails.
  • Law enforcement or regulators — where required or authorised by law.

Some of these providers may store information on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. We use reputable providers who are required to protect your information.

We will not sell your personal information to third parties, or share it for unrelated marketing purposes without your consent.

5. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, misuse, disclosure, loss or destruction. Our website uses secure (HTTPS) connections, admin access is protected by two-factor authentication, and card payments are handled by our payment provider rather than stored by us. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Under Australian privacy law, you can:

  • ask to access the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct information that is wrong or out of date;
  • ask us to delete your information (subject to our legal and record-keeping requirements);

You can update most of your details yourself in My Account. For any other request, contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days.

7. Marketing Communications

We will only send you news and specials if you have given consent, by ticking the box at checkout, when creating an account, or in your account details. We record the date you opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in our emails, unticking the box in your online account, or contacting us. Order and account emails (such as order confirmations) are not marketing and will still be sent.

8. Data Retention

We keep your personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes in this policy, or as required by law. Purchase records are kept for accounting, tax and warranty purposes — generally for at least five years, as required under Australian tax law. When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or de-identify it.
